As feelings run high in Lübeck over whether (and how) the lower bank of the Trave can (or should)  be redesigned, whether the existing linden trees have to be felled in order to secure the sponsorship of building plan or whether indeed the new paving might not be too slippery, and so on, our protagonist and art connoisseur strolls along the Trave and discovers the (wasted?) space for himself.
